OLD AND NEW MEMORIES OF RECITALS
Can you smell it? Can you feel it? Can you hear it? It happens this time every year. RECITAL TIME!!! No, that is not the clanking of my keyboard you hear, it is the sound of clanking tap shoes and shuffling of ballet and jazz shoes. I had the honor to attend my daughter's recital this past weekend and while there had the memories of my past recitals come back in full swing. Recitals are like initiations of childhood. I can still clearly see myself and all the work that went into preparing for the big day. Having been through the dance classes growing up I have a better understanding and appreciation for all my daughter sacrified this year for her special day. Dance classes in my opinion bring out greatness and character. A young dancer is able to learn grace and dignity and that all the hard work does pay-off, in the form of an audience eagerly awaiting the performance. My daughter showed me how it is important to treasure memories in order to be able to share them.
